I HATE WAITING

I Hate Waiting By Belle Touchton The Missionary Dog
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him. Ps 37:7 NIV
Where is Mommy? I’ve been waiting for a week. Has she forgotten about me? Why didn’t she take me with her? It is boring here. The dog next to me won’t stop crying. What is her problem? Her mommy must not have the “no whining” rule. The people here are nice but I miss Mommy. If you see her, would you remind her that I’m still waiting?
I knew I was in trouble when Mommy and Daddy packed suitcases. When they both pack, they both leave. Suitcases mean airplanes because we don’t use suitcases in the camper. I hate it when they pack suitcases.
Mommy won’t take me on airplanes. She says I’m too big to travel up top with her. She says it is cold and dark under the airplane. She says I would be scared and that I’m better off at the doggie hotel. That is hard to believe.
I could tell Mommy didn’t like leaving me so why did she? Don’t I matter to her anymore? She probably found another dog she likes better. I’ll bet that other dog is sleeping in her bed. What if that other dog is playing with my toys? Maybe Mommy is never coming back.
No…wait…that isn’t right. Mommy loves me. She always comes back to get me. Waiting doesn’t last forever. If she says I won’t like traveling on airplanes, she is probably right. She knows what is best for me. I know I am important to her. She wouldn’t let another dog play with my toys. I guess I’ll just have to be still and wait more patiently.
I still hate waiting but maybe the time will pass quicker if I help the crying dog next to me. She probably misses her mommy too. After all, I am Belle, the Missionary Dog.
