Is It Enough?
Is It Enough?

Clinton is a charming and successful 23-year-old man. He graduated from college and has his first professional job. He obviously likes people and was friendly and easy to talk to. He was fascinated by my journey and gave me several travel tips. He was considerate. He went out of his way to go get a map and show some areas of interest. His eyes were bright with the shine that says, "I'm young and I have my entire future in front of me."

When asked about church, he said he had never really gone to church. A couple of girlfriends had a spiritual foundation and had taken him to church. He hadn't really understood very much.

He wasn't sure if he was a Christian or not. He said he didn't really know what he was.

I said, "Oh Clinton, you don't even know what you are missing." I was a little startled at my bluntness but Clinton was friendly about it. He laughed and agreed.

I asked him if he had ever faced anything really serious in his life. Just as I had guessed, he had not. Life won't always be this easy for Clinton and there will come a time when he will need and want something more. I encouraged him to seek it before he needed it. He took a card for Pocket Full Of Quarters and agreed to look it up.

God the Father created Clinton. He made a talented man with enormous potential. He made a man with a good heart. God has plans for Clinton that Clinton cannot even imagine. There are joys available for him that he doesn't even know about yet.

God the Son came to earth to show Clinton how to live. He prepared a way for Clinton to be guilt free and at peace. He loves Clinton and longs for a intimate and personal relationship with him. He will show Clinton a way that will lead to a peace that Clinton has no idea exists.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God. John 3:16-18 NIV"

God the Holy Spirit will continually call Clinton's name. Clinton will feel the need to know Jesus and love God. He may argue and may never accept it but it will continually be an issue.

It is said that there is a God shaped hole in all of us. We long to fill this hole. Sometimes we try to fill this hole with other things and they don't fit. There is a children's toy that is a circle with holes in different shapes. The children try to put the shapes into the holes. Each shape will only fit into one hole. The longing for God is that way. Only God completely fits into that empty spot inside of us.

"But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you." John 14:26-27 NIV

One God. Three Faces. What a miraculous plan. What a complex God. What a complete God.

Pray for Clinton. He already has so much. He doesn't know what he is missing. Join me in asking that God will send person after person to Clinton with the very same message. Pray that Clinton will hear the truth and accept God's love. Pray that Clinton will build a long and complete relationship with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
