Prayer Request - Courtney
Courtney is 25 years old. Her father is a minister and her mother is a sweet servant of God. She has a sister that loves her.
For her first 17 years, she had the sweet and sheltered life of growing up in a small town Christian home. Her life was ideal and fun.
Then she contracted a rare form of hepatitis. They have no idea how she got it. There was no evidence of any of the usual ways of contracting hepatitis. This illness has left her with chronic difficulties that are making it hard for her to live her life. She has also been diagnosed with Lupus.
Her life revolves around doctors, hospitals, and medicine. She has developed a drug addiction to prescription pain pills and is trying to get off of these pills. She is discouraged and sees to reason to continue living.
I heard about Courtney from her mother Loretta. Loretta is terrified and doesn't know what to do. She has asked for our prayers and I committed that we would pray.
Courtney is a Christian. Pray that Courtney will look for ways that her difficulties can help others. Pray that in helping others, she will find purpose in life. Pray for her strength as she fights an addiction to drugs that were prescribed by her doctors. Pray for her spirit as she battles understandable discouragement. Pray for her doctors as they try to stabilize her conditions. Pray that she will follow the doctor's instructions and give treatments the best opportunity to improve her health. Pray for hope for Courtney. Pray that she will look for reasons to be grateful for life.
Pray for Loretta and her terror. God understands this fear. Pray for Loretta's peace as she gives this sick daughter to God. Pray for her hope and her spirit. Pray that she will be given the wisdom to know when to help and when to let Courtney find her way. Pray that she will also be able to enjoy the many blessing around her. Thank God for Loretta's faithfulness as a wife, mother, and servant of God.
