Travel Tip - Colorado - Highway 160
Travel Tip: Highway 160 - Colorado

If you find yourself on Highway 160 in Colorado, stop in Durango.

Treat yourself and stay in The General Palmer Hotel. Their number is 970-247-4747. It is a beautiful downtown older hotel. It is charming and reasonably priced. I love anywhere that decorates with bears. See the pictures on the Website.

Get up early the next morning and take the Durango train to Silverton. You will pass mountains, rivers, cliffs, and meadows. The views are breathtaking. Be sure to ask for the open Gondola Cars. Thank God for the beauty as you ride the train. Tell others on the train about your gratitude to God. There are pictures of the trip in the photo gallery.

You will get back a little after 6:00 PM. Eat dinner in Durango and drive the hour to Pagosa Springs. Stay in The Spring Inn. Their number is 970-264-4168.

The inn is on the river and uses the hot springs to heat the multiple hot tubs on the property. The springs are 150 degrees and each hot tub is regulated to a comfortable temperature. Each hot tub has the temperature marked. Choose your personal comfortable temperature. Even if it is late, be sure to soak in the hot tubs and walk across the bridge covered in warm water. Take a look at the pictures on the website.

Get up early the next morning and take your Bible out by the river. Do your prayers and meditations in the still of the morning and then get in the hot tubs again. Be brave and consider cooling off in the river.
