Travel Tip – Oakhurst Tea Room – Somerset Pennsylvania
Travel Tip – Oakhurst Tea Room – Somerset Pennsylvania

If you are ever in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, be sure and take the drive to Somerset, Pennsylvania. Make a day out of it and visit Seven Springs and the State Park. At the end of the day, stop and eat at the Oakhurst Tea Room. The restaurant is set in the mountains and the drive is beautiful.

We have been visiting the Oakhurst Tea Room for over 25 years. It has never changed. We recognized employees that served us in 1976.

The food is served buffet style and the price is $10.95. The menu has remained constant and the food outstanding. Bob’s favorite on the menu is their fried bananas. I stopped eating those 23 years ago but still remember how good they are.

They also have a charming gift shop that sells Angels.

Be sure to thank God for the food and the beautiful mountains before you begin to eat.
