Pocket Full Of Quarters Picks A Favorite National Park
This selection is based on: Variety Beauty Places To Worship Nature Hiking Trails Camp Grounds
We are so blessed with our wonderful National Parks. I was able to visit most of the National Parks in our country. I loved them all. I strongly advise buying a National Park Pass and heading west.
My favorite park was Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. There are pictures on in the Photo Gallery under Wyoming.
When we think of Yellowstone, we all think of Yogi Bear and Jellystone. While I didn’t see any bears, I did buy bear repellent before camping in Yellowstone. I was advised to get out of my tent before using the spray. The spray works like mace and could be dangerous in close quarters. I asked how I was supposed to leave the tent if a bear was trying to get in. I was told to wait until he went around to the back of the tent, then get out, and confront him. I don’t think so!
This park has mountains, geysers, mud pots, animals, boiling and other lakes, waterfalls, and many nature trails.
The campgrounds are beautiful. I was able to only spend a couple of days there but I would have enjoyed a week. Old Faithful was incredible. See the pictures on in Photo Gallery.
If you are there on a Sunday, be sure to worship in their camp Chapel. Christian college students lead the service. The messages are Christian, non-denominational, and straightforward. An eighteen-year-old young woman who is the daughter of a minister led the service I attended. What a legacy her father has.
Perhaps the highlight of the trip was the buffalo parade. I looked up and wondered what was stopping traffic. At first, I could not figure out what it was. It looked like a parade. It was actually a herd of buffalo walking in a straight line down the highway. There were about ten buffalo. I took pictures. By the time the camera was ready, six had already marched by my car.
