Steps to Seeking Wisdom
1. Approach God’s Word with enthusiasm. If you cannot approach God’s Word with enthusiasm, approach with obligation! After a while, obligation becomes desire.
Like newborn babies crave spiritual milk, so by it you may grow up in your salvation. 1 Peter 2:2
People need more than bread for their life. They must feed on every word of God. Matthew 4:4
2. Experience God’s Word with consistency
Now the Bereans were of more noble character. For they received the message with great eagerness and they examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17
Oh the joys of those who delight in doing everything that God wants them to do and day and night are always meditating on His laws and thinking about ways to follow Him more closely. They are like trees along a riverbed bearing luscious fruit each season without fail. Their leaves never wither, and all they do shall prosper. Psalms 1:2-3
3. Discuss God’s Word with others
These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them upon your children, talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 6:6-7
4. Act on God’s Word with immediacy.
Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are or what they look like. James 1:22-24
