Quick Tips: Four Ways To Identify Your Spiritual Gifts

Relational Style

How do you relate to people? For example, if you find yourself telling people what do, you may have the gift of leadership. If the nature of your friendships revolves around helping them physically, your gift might be service.

Abilities

What are your talents? If you are good at researching the scriptures and presenting them in a meaningful way, you may have the gift of teaching.

Concerns

What keeps you awake at night? What concerns you? If you want to weep when your friends have problems, one of your gifts may be mercy. If you worry about the financial needs of others, generosity might be one of your gifts.

Experience

What are your life experiences? Do people needing spiritual advice and warnings surround you? You may have the gift of prophesy. Do you see discouraged people, everywhere you look? Your gift might be encouragement.

Rom 12:6-8 (NIV)
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.
