That Nashville has an almost one to one ratio of churches to bars/honky tonks? According to my tour driver, they have 800 churches and 750 honky tonks. They also have an abundance of educational institutions. Our driver said, “Nashville is a city where you can get saved, educated, and drunk all in the same day.”
Some call Nashville the “Buckle of the Bible Belt” because it has a high number Christian publishing houses, has many churches, and is the headquarters to the Southern Baptist Convention.
What does it mean that the “Buckle of the Bible Belt” is also famous for its Honky Tonks?
