Prayer Request – Barbara Tillman
Beautiful red haired Barbara Tillman is going to have a pacemaker put in on Tuesday and my Aunt Ka Ka has requested for prayer for her.
Barbara is my Aunt Ka Ka’s best friend, prayer partner, and neighbor as well as being a member of her church. Barbara and Aunt Ka Ka’s friendship is a model for Christian friendship.
Like most friends, they tell each other all their secrets but as Christians, they do more. They pray together and for each other and they encourage each other. When Barbara was sick and in need of intimate care, Aunt Ka Ka gladly took care of her. When Aunt Ka Ka and Uncle Bobby travel, Barbara and her husband Walt look after their house for them.
Once, when Aunt Ka Ka was sharing how close they were, I said, “She’s lucky to have you for a friend.”
Aunt Ka Ka’s quick response was, “We’re blessed to have each other.”
When I visit my Aunt Ka Ka’s church or home, I can count on warm hugs from Barbara and Walt. When I drive up to their home, I often hear Walt yell from across the street, “Hey good looking.”
I think of my Aunt Ka Ka and Uncle Bobby as a second set of parents and I love anyone who loves them. I appreciate what the Tillmans mean to them and ask for your prayers for Barbara.
If you do not have a friend who will keep you secrets, pray for and with you, and take care of you when you’re sick, ask God for one.
If you aren’t a friend who keeps secrets, prays for and with your friend, or takes care of them when they’re sick, confess to God, call your friend, and make amends.
Prov 27:9-10 Oil and perfume make the heart glad, So a man's counsel is sweet to his friend. Do not forsake your own friend or your father's friend, And do not go to your brother's house in the day of your calamity; Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother far away. NASU
Prov 17:17 A friend loves at all times. NASU
