To judge worth by appearance

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
To judge worth by achievements
Achievements are fleeting!
Isaiah 5:24 (Message)
Their souls will atrophy, their achievements crumble into dust.
To judge worth by the approval of others
The approval of others is fickle!
Luke 6:26 (Message)
There's trouble ahead when you live only for the approval of others, saying what flatters them, doing what indulges them. Popularity contests are not truth contests — look how many scoundrel preachers were approved by your ancestors! Your task is to be true, not popular.
To judge worth by the level of influence
There is always someone more powerful waiting to conquer!
Dan 11:2-4
Now then, I tell you the truth: Three more kings will appear in Persia, and then a fourth, who will be far richer than all the others. When he has gained power by his wealth, he will stir up everyone against the kingdom of Greece. Then a mighty king will appear, who will rule with great power and do as he pleases.
