Happy New Year

Dear Friends:
Happy New Year! What an amazing year we had at Pocket Full of Change Ministries. I am writing to you to give you a ministry update and to ask you to consider a tax-deductible donation to Pocket Full of Change Ministries. The author Henry Blackaby says to join God where He is working. God is working in this ministry and we need your support to continue.
Affiliations The ministry has an identity. We are now a Florida non-profit corporation and have affiliated with Logos Global Network (www.logosglobalnetwork.com), a division of Logos College (www.logos.edu), to become a 501(c) 3 corporation. That means donations are now tax deductible. We have formed a Board of Directors that includes myself, Dr. Don Cooley, John Turnburke, Gail Golden, and Dr. Robert Touchton. They have committed to prayerfully guide the future of this ministry. We have also been adopted by the Sojourners Ministry, (www.sojournershub.org) and have been pronounced an official “Sojourner.”
Encouragement to America Fulfilling the Great Commission in America is the heart and soul of this ministry. In 2007, God allowed me to travel to 40 states telling people about His love and offering words of hope and encouragement. You can read about the 2007 journey on the ministry website. One new aspect of this ministry is that people have began requesting to spend time traveling with me for the purpose of learning how to speak to others about God. This year Christian author and speaker Barbara Gobbs and my nephew Bill Milligan spent time on the road with me, participating in the ministry. I hope to grow that next year. It is the joint vision of Pocket Full of Change Ministries and the Sojourners to have many people traveling the country in Roadtreks fulfilling the Great Commission of Christ.
Speaking Ministry God has blessed the speaking ministry. What a privilege it has been to speak words of encouragement to churches, conferences, organizations, and on Christian radio and television. Just in the last 2 weeks, I was a guest speaker for 2 international Christian television shows, 3 radio shows, 2 churches that were 2000 miles apart, a Christian book store, and a library. 2008 is already promising to be a busy year and you can see the schedule on the website calendar. Note that I will be speaking on the Florida Christian Writer’s Conference in the spring of 2008. My ministry partner, friend, and publicist Gail Golden is truly golden and we have enjoyed 2007 promoting the ministry together.
Website/e-mail Ministry The website ministry continues to grow. Thousands of people go to the ministry website each week. As I speak across the country, many write or go to the website for encouragement. So far, I have been able to appropriately respond to these e-mails in a timely fashion. I have signed up with the company Talk Fusion (www.talkfusion.com) and in 2008, I will begin sending out short (5 minute) inspirational and encouraging video e-mails that are Bible Studies on topics relevant to the people I’m meeting across America. Gail and I also are planning to put out an inspirational e-mail ministry newsletter.
Ministry Partner Christian singer, speaker, and recording artist Aaralyn (www.aaralyn.com) has agreed to join Pocket Full of Change Ministries as a singer and worship leader for special events. She is the daughter of my publicist, Gail Golden. This year she was the singer and I was the speaker for a woman’s luncheon at Murray Hill Baptist Church. We hope to do many more events together. If you are considering asking me to speak and would like the event to include music, please consider also inviting Aaralyn.
Publications Books sales are continuing to increase. The next book, Pocket Full of Hope, should be out soon. Several articles have been written about the ministry in various newspapers. Look for a story by Laura Christianson about “The Pocket Full of Quarter’s Lady” in the 2008 March/April issue of Today’s Christian magazine.
Biblically Based Consulting I have always known I was called to use my business background to help Christians that are in the business world or running organizations like churches and ministries. We’ve developed a comprehensive consulting/mentoring practice based on the mission statement and key ministry scripture, “The Sh’ma.” (Luke 10:27) In 2008, Gail Golden and I will begin offering this service to anyone who needs it. It will be a ministry and instead of charging for our services, we will simply accept ministry donations at what ever level the individual, business, or ministry can afford. What a blessing it will be to leave the finances to God and to simply offer our services to businesses, individuals, churches and organizations. If you know someone that could use mentoring or full scale business/ministry consulting, contact us. In closing, I want to thank you for your prayers, friendships, and support. If you are looking for a way to give a Christmas gift to the Christ Child this Christmas, I would like to offer Pocket Full of Change Ministries as an option. I promise you that we will do our best to be faithful to the Christ Child and use this money on His behalf. It costs about $120 a day to travel the country, sharing God’s love and, more often than not, I have to cover my own expenses to travel to the various television and speaking opportunities that God sends my way. Please consider becoming apart of this evangelistic work by funding a partial day, a full day, a week, or more. You can send a check made out to Pocket Full of Change Ministries to the address below.
Blessings to You This Christmas,
