Belle’s Musings – Confession Is Good For the Soul By Belle Touchton - The Missionary Dog Mommy - Cheryle M. Touchton The Pocket Full of Quarters Lady I confess my iniquity; I am troubled by my sin. Psalms 38:18 NIV
Mommy says confession is good for the soul so I’ll confess – I broke Mommy’s phone. I knew the phone was important to her because of how much she uses it but I had no idea how important it was until I broke it. Mommy panicked when she realized it was broken and I heard her ask daddy if he knew anyone who wanted a dog. I think she was kidding.
I feel bad about breaking the phone but how was I to know that if you lay on a phone cord when the phone is plugged in, it could pull the cord and break the end of the charger off inside the phone. I was just trying to cool off.
The problem began with the furnace. I don’t like it! It scares me and makes me hot. It has been so cold that Mommy had to turn on the furnace. She knew I hated it and warned me before she turned it on because I jump every time it turns on. When the heat blats out across the bottom of the camper, I scamper to try to get out of the way. Everywhere I try to lay, that hot air blows on me. God made Shelties for snow and a furnace in a small camper is the opposite of snow.
I thought I’d found the perfect spot. There is a tiny space between the two front seats where the air doesn’t blow. Mommy keeps my food there so I have to hop over the food and snuggle up against the dashboard to keep cool. I felt the cords hanging down so I circled them and did my best to tramp them down. Shelties also like to circle and make their bed. Apparently, that was not such a good idea because it snapped the charger right off inside the phone. When mommy tried to take it out with her needle nosed pliers, it ruined the socket.
Mommy bought a new phone and she’s not mad at me anymore but I do wonder why that phone is so important. It seems like it is more important than me. I’m confessing that I broke the phone but I think Mommy needs to confess that she cares entirely too much about her phone.
