Prayer Request - Vincente

The Pocket Full of Quarters Lady
Vincente is a 13 year old Christian boy whose mother is in the final stages of AIDS. His mother has stopped all treatment and unless God works a miracle, her time on earth will be short. This frail, rail thin, woman recently accepted Christ and was baptized at our church. Our Sunday School class has been lending assistance to the family in various forms.
This isn’t Vincente’s first loss to AIDS. Before he was born, his father died of AIDS. Vincente has been tested for HIV 4 times and to date, he is HIV free. He has a grandmother and aunts who will take care of him but no significant male role model. My prayer request is for Vincente and the male church members that are trying to mentor him.
My husband and I lost our oldest son David to AIDS in 1995 so this situation touches our hearts. On Thursday night, July 9th, my husband Bob, fellow church member Allen Blanchard, along with another man that we don’t know but who has also lost a son to AIDS are taking Vincente to dinner. The purpose of the dinner is to make sure he understands how sick his mother is, to answer any questions he might have about death, and to monitor how he is reacting to everything.
Please pray for Vincente as he deals with this probable loss in his life. Pray for Bob, Allen, and the other man as they minister to Vincente. Praise God that Vincente and his mother are Christians.
