Quick Tips: Bitterness

Quick Tips: Bitterness

The Bible says we are to thank God in all things.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV)
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

A quick test for bitterness: Is your first response to every circumstance to thank God?

If you are bitter:
1. Recognize it.
2. Make a decision to trust God with your circumstances.
3. Confess to God and to a trustworthy Christian.
4. Ask God to remove it.
5. Make any necessary apologies or amends.
6. Praise God for you circumstances.
7. Ask God what He would have you do next.

Ephesians 4:31 (NIV)
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice
