The Contemplative Tradition

Develop a life of loving attention to God.

Ps 119:147-149 (NIV)
I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word. My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promises. Hear my voice in accordance with your love.

The Holiness Tradition

Develop a lifestyle of practicing holiness.

Leviticus 20:26 (NIV)
You are to be holy to me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.

The Charismatic Tradition

Know and exercise your spiritual gifts in service to God and others.

1 Corinthians 14:1 (NIV)
Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts

The Social Justice Tradition

Follow the laws of your society.

Deuteronomy 12:1 (NIV)
These are the decrees and laws you must be careful to follow in the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you to possess — as long as you live in the land.

The Evangelical Tradition

Tell the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Matt 28:19-20 (NIV)
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

The Incarnation Tradition

Live a Christ filled life.

Rom 8:11 NIV (NIV)
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
